Rules are still being drafted and formatted. These rules are in no way final and are subject to change.
All rules of the field owners must be obeyed. Failure to abide by those rules may result in ejection from the league.
Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Acting in an unsportsmanlike manner will result in an ejection from the game, and a 1 game suspension. Two ejections from any CVSSC sport in a 1 year period will result in a 1 year suspension from all CVSSC sports. This includes sponsor venues -- reports of disruptive behavior or causing a disturbance will not be tolerated and may result in additional suspensions not limited to the rules listed above.
Altercations: If a situation goes beyond the unsportsmanlike conduct rule, such as trying to physically assault another player, the player may be removed from the league with no refund. The player may also be suspended from all CVSSC sports for the following season.
Disputing Calls: Calls may only be discussed with the referee(s) by the captain or assistant captain of either squad. Verbally abusing a referee will result in ejection and further punishment may be handed down.
Games cancelled due to weather will be attempted to be made up. There are no guarantees on making up rained out games.
Game time is START TIME. The first half will be 25 minutes in length, followed by a 5 minute halftime. The second half will end 5 minutes prior to the next scheduled game. This should result in 25 minute halves if players are organized and ready. We'd like to give you as much play time as possible, so please help us by showing on time and being ready for play.
Cleats are permitted, but NO metal spikes.
We will largely be using UVA intramural rules for soccer. Those can be viewed here: http://www.virginia.edu/ims/imsports/rules/pdfs/Soccer%20(Outdoor).pdf
Differences: Co-ed 7v7 will have a 3 women minimum requirement on the field at all times. No offsides in any league. Men's leagues 7v7.
Slide tackling is banned in the co-ed league. Field players attempting a slide tackle in the co-ed league will be given a red card and ejected from the game. A goalkeeper may slide in an attempt to take the ball from an attacking player's feet, but only within the Penalty Box. Outside of the penalty box, a goalkeeper is treated like a standard field player and subject to the same ejection for a slide tackle.
