Foxfield

Some info on the Foxfield trip:

Where we are: Plots H-1 and H-2, green section. From what I've been told, we're pretty much in the middle of the infield.

Where the bus is meeting: 4th and Water Street. The bus will be in the parking lot of the King Building -- my suggestion is to either park your cars on Garrett Street, or in the Water Street Garage.

You will receive your ticket upon getting on the bus and me checking off your name on the list.

The bus will depart at 9:30 AM. Please show up earlier than that so we can coordinate getting the bus loaded up, etc. As of right now, no one is bringing a car to the plot, and we cannot leave anything on the bus once we get there. So, bring stuff you can carry. The league is bringing some beer and food, cornhole sets, beer pong table, and we'll need some help carrying this. If anyone wants to drive, let me know.. I have the 2 parking passes for the plots, but I don't have any extra tickets.

The bus will depart Foxfield at 5pm. Again, I will have a list of bus riders, and we need to make sure everyone makes it on. Please do me a favor and e-mail me your cell #'s in case there's any sort of trouble or emergency finding you.

Food/beer: We're getting some food from Wayside BBQ and some beer/liquor. It will in no way be enough -- you are strongly encouraged to bring some drinks.

My thought is to use this topic for general Q&A, coordinating other things to bring, etc. Have at it.

Car & Driver

Charlie's picture

I do think securing a driver is a good idea. He/she can leave the car on the plot overnight and ride back on the bus. Please someone volunteer? I will drive you out to Foxfield on Sunday morning to pick up your vehicle. I don't see cases of liquid, trays of food, tables, corhonle sets, coolers, chairs, etc. all making it from bus to plot and especially not back to the bus after a full day of drinking and sunning. Any ideas??

Liquor in large quantities

The Tim's picture

I'd like to mix up a big batch of something to drink in addition to beer, i.e. gin bucket or skip n go. Or I could do a giant batch of shooters and bring along dixie cups to dispense in. Any preferences?

Food wise, did we just get chicken, or do we have sides and whatnot as well?

I have a 4Runner we could

Yeah, I e-mailed Lauren and she'll drive her car. Thanks so much Lauren!

I'll grab one of those 10x10' shade tents -- what else do we need? Music of any sort?

Water

The Tim's picture

Lets make sure we bring some agua with us. You can get dehydrated real fast out there. Have you taken care of that Charlie, or should we designate someone as waterboy?

essentials

lfagerholm's picture

is wayside providing the essentials like plates, utensils, etc.?

Grocery

Charlie's picture

I plan to make a final grocery run for things like cups, plates, plastics, H2O on Friday afternoon. Anything else we might need that I have overlooked? Don't have a way to keep that much ice solid overnight so we might need to designate an Iceboy/girl for early Saturday morning.

How many people are planning to bring a cooler? I have one.

Grocery / coolers

lfagerholm's picture

I picked up 4 bags of chips, 1 box of cookies, and a 12 pack of coke last night. I'll probably stop by for some spudnuts on Saturday morning. I don't have a cooler but did read on foxfields website that all alcohol must be in coolers no bigger than 30"x17"x18", i have no idea if this applies to water.

yeah

Chad Day's picture

Most everyone should be bringing a cooler I'd hope.

Cooler Regulations: The maximum size of any cooler coming onto the Foxfield grounds must be no larger than L 30" x W 17" x H 18". All alcoholic beverages being brought onto the Foxfield grounds must be contained within this cooler size. Alcoholic beverages being transported outside of a cooler will be confiscated.

Water sounds good to be transported outside coolers.

I'm bringing a cooler and I'm with Charlie, if some security guard starts measuring my cooler, I'll ask him if he's got a ticket to the gunshow and ask him to measure my arms.

TDiddy8701's picture

hey im rollin w/ you guys on the bus.... and im bringing a cooler w/ beer, peach schnapps, bacardi and sprite

quick question... is glass a no-go? so I should make whatever mixed drinks im gonna have and put them in 2L coke bottles?

glass

Chad Day's picture

the rule on glass seems to be it's ok if whatever you are bringing doesn't come in anything BUT glass. like wine, certain liquors, etc etc.

advice = put the glass stuff at the bottom of the cooler.
